Text: Matei Visniec
Directed by: Ioan Brancu
Scenography: Marian Sandu
Video projection: Marin Fagu
Music: Cari Tibor
Cast: Ioan Brancu, Liliana Gavrilescu, Mariana Zaharia, Robert Trifan, Leonard Dodan.
In the national premiere, Matei Visniec, the most played Romanian playwright both in the country and abroad, "debuts" on the stage in Tandarica, with a play written for children. "The snowman who wanted to meet the sun" is a poem full of tenderness, candor and sensitivity, which talks about friendship, sadness, joy, hope.
When he feels the sun's rays slowly melt away, the Snowman sets off on a journey to ask the heavenly star to be merciful to him. On the way he meets a series of animals which, in exchange for the help to reach the land of the Sun, gives them from the "accessories" that the children endowed. Arriving here, instead of asking for something for him, he asks for help from his friends. Time did not race in favor of Snow Man, only his red heart remained pulsating, but the sun promised him that it would turn him into a dream and bring him back to life and next winter.
"You will hover for nine months above the plain and the forest, above the clouds and the wind ... You will be a living dream, a dream nestled in the taste of life and the pleasure of living with children ... and over nine months, when it will come again in winter, you will become a snowman, the best hybrid friend of the children ... "

And when the bear asked for a little fish, he lied to her, telling her she had caught him. Then he taught him how to proceed to catch him. He told her to go to the balcony at the edge of the forest, to put her tail in the water and stay there until the day. In the morning, he would grasp his tail and see how much he would pull out. And the bear did just that. When he fired with all his might, he caught nothing, but only his tail broke, which remained trapped in the ice! Since then it is said that the bear remained without a tail. Ashamed and angry, the bear went to beat the fox. But she was waiting for the bear's revenge, hidden in a scurvy. Tired and closed, the bear was fooled.

The story keeps the Grimm Brothers line, but the action that exudes a Zen atmosphere, has references to the oriental world sprinkled with musical inserts, personalized songs for each main character. The scenography is extremely interesting and, for the first time for an animation show, thought of spectacularly large dimensions, to be more suggestive. As a style of handling we have from long-haired puppets to small footbridge, to human-sized mannequins or masks.

Compared with the original poem (or with the dramatization of Peter Brook and Jean-Claude Carriere from 1979), the author of this text has taken into account first of all the value and universal human dimension of the Persian poet Farid UDdin Attar's thinking, of Eastern philosophy, of advanced thinking. and self-knowledge. The long and difficult path of "initiation" in the Poultry Assembly, of the great journey, departs at Attar, compared to the other Eastern philosophers and writers, from "heaven" and becomes the demonstration of the truth of the earth, of the truth of man - the only culprit and responsible of his destiny. It is precisely this fundamental feature of Attar's literature, this detachment of religion, this broadly humanistic opening of his thinking, that made us choose to transpose this text.
He retains, on the other hand, the beauty and originality of Oriental thought, but departs from the landed fanaticism of monotheistic beliefs, especially Islamic ones, in favor of rationalism, and of a real meaning for a real life.
"Initiation" thus becomes a fact of knowledge in the act and "for me", a path of consciousness towards itself, the unique basis of any authentic existence in social frameworks.

Hero of an immortal and extremely beloved story, the Little Prince is now a legendary character, the symbol of a responsible and generous humanity, who brings a message of hope and brotherhood. The story of the Little Prince, a boy with broom hair and pure heart, is told by a pilot who crashed his plane into the Sahara desert. Little Prince was living on an asteroid that he decided to leave to explore the world. He is urged to go on the journey even by the flower he loved, but whose vanity was disappointed. Earth is the seventh planet it reaches, after encounters on other planets with various characters that illustrate a flaw or human defect.
Here he meets other interesting characters, including the pilot, a snake, a fox and other flowers, at least in appearance, his flowers. Each one has something to learn, in the same way that those who come in contact with him and his way of seeing things have something to learn, starting with the pilot and ending with us, the spectators. Finally, the Little Prince wants to return to his asteroid, but the only way is death and, with the help of the snake, he falls to the ground without making any sound.
The Little Print is a philosophical book in which essential questions are raised for each of us: friendship, love, death, time, reality.
